We highly recommend all owners of these printers upgrade as soon as possible.
The B492 print engine has been discontinued and there is no direct or indirect replacement in the Toshiba TEC range - although parts etc are of course still readily available.

The new B-492 in-line module is a centralised printing unit, meaning that the labels and ribbon are aligned to the centre of the printing mechanism. This moves away from the restricted traditional edge-aligned applicators, opening up new avenues with flexible printing for flexible production systems.
